Fiona Grond und Luca Zambito zählen zweifellos zu den interessantesten Entdeckungen der jungen Münchner Jazzszene, die seit einigen Jahren kontinuierlich an Profil und Sichtbarkeit gewinnt. Zusammen erkunden sie nun die Tradition des Klavier-Gesangsduos und deren Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten. Inspiriert durch Vorbilder wie Norma Winstone und Fred Hersch oder Cecile McLorrin Salvant und Sullivan Fortner vertonen die beiden sowohl Eigenkompositionen als auch Lieblingsstücke aus unterschiedlichsten Stilistiken der Musikgeschichte.

Im intimen Zwiegespräch kann sich das Zusammenspiel frei entfalten, ungezwungen mit Zeit, Harmonie, Melodie und Phrasierung gespielt werden. So entstehen immer wieder fesselnde Überraschungsmomente, mal verspielt rhythmisch, mal filigran und lyrisch, mal textgewaltig und mal lautmalerisch aber immer treffsicher und bezaubernd schön.

Nach ihrem erfolgreichen Debut „Interspaces“ 2021 veröffentlichte die Schweizer Vokalistin und Komponistin Fiona Grond im August 2023 ihr zweites Album „Poesias“ beim renommierten Label ACT Records. Neben ihren eigenen Projekten war sie bereits mit dem Christian Elsässer Jazz Orchestra und der Jazzrausch Big Band zu hören. Sie war Gewinnerin des Women in Jazz Next Generation Wettbewerbs und des Jazzpreis der Stadt Halle, sowie Preisträgerin beim internationalen Jazzbeet Wettbewerb des Jazzfest Bonn. 2020 erhielt sie den Leonard und Ida Wolf-Gedächtnispreis für Musik der Landeshauptstadt München.

/Fiona Grond and Luca Zambito are undoubtedly among the most interesting discoveries on the young Munich jazz scene, which has been steadily growing in profile and visibility for several years. Together they are now exploring the tradition of the piano-vocal duo and its expressive possibilities. Inspired by role models such as Norma Winstone and Fred Hersch or Cecile McLorrin Salvant and Sullivan Fortner, the two perform their own compositions as well as favorite pieces from the most diverse styles of music history.

In their intimate dialog, the two musicians can play freely with time, harmony, melody and phrasing. The result is always captivating moments of surprise, sometimes playfully rhythmic, sometimes delicate and lyrical, sometimes lyrically powerful and sometimes onomatopoeic, but always unerringly accurate and enchantingly beautiful.

Following her successful debut "Interspaces" in 2021, Swiss vocalist and composer Fiona Grond released her second album "Poesias" on the renowned label ACT Records in August 2023. In addition to her own projects, she has already performed with the Christian Elsässer Jazz Orchestra and the Jazzrausch Big Band. She won the Women in Jazz Next Generation Competition and the Jazz Prize of the City of Halle, as well as the International Jazzbeet Competition at Jazzfest Bonn. In 2020, she received the Leonard and Ida Wolf Memorial Prize for Music from the City of Munich.
